Glorify God the Father John 15:1

We believe in the Trinity – One God, yet three distinct manifestations of God.
God the Spirit works in this world to always glorify God the Father. God the Son, (Hebrew name is Yeshua, in English we call Him Jesus) Jesus always sought to glorify God the Father.

Jesus said in John 8:29 (KJB)  And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please Him.

We see THE goal that Jesus had is that He wanted to always please the Father!
Over and over in the Bible we see phrases like “to the glory of God” example
1 Corinthians 10:31 (KJB) Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
Phrases like “my Father glorified” John 15:8 (KJB) Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

As Christians our goal should be the same: to bring honor and glory to God the Father.
The Holy Spirit through John said that God the Father is glorified when we bear much fruit. How are we as Christians (Christ-like people) to bear fruit?
There is only one way to bring forth much fruit – that is through Jesus Christ.
Jesus, He is the Vine and we are the branches. We can not do anything without Him.
All things are made by Him, there is nothing that is in this world that He did not make.
We have to use what He made to make other stuff we want.  Jesus is saying here that to make fruit for the Father’s glory we have to abide, Live in Him. It is by His power, His Spirit, His Glory, we are able to bring forth fruit.  John 15:4-5 (KJB)
4. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Vs 4 and 5 seem like He is trying to tell us something. I think He wants us to abide in Him, and to let Him abide in us. Matter of fact, He says we can’t do without it.

“for without me ye can do nothing.” This is a very blunt statement, we MUST live in Christ; abide there in Him and He abides in us, because we are powerless without Him.
Without Him we can not glorify God the Father.

Why are there so many powerless saved people?

Because they the do not want to be a Christian, to live like Christ. They want what the flesh wants and not what the Spirit of God wants.

Abide in Jesus and He in you, Glorify the Father with MUCH fruit!

His Spirit in us

I listened to a Sermon1 It was about how God takes our spirit and put it with Him in heavenly places. Then He puts His Spirit in us to make us alive.  We are to live by the power of His Spirit.

God expects us to live for Him. Today’s society expects God to live for them.

When Jesus prayed for His disciples and us, He ask that we would be one with Him and the Father.  This sermon made me realize, Jesus has done this for us, we just don’t live in oneness with God because we desire what the flesh/world wants and not what God wants.

If we lived in the Spirit and we walk in the Spirit, we would consider everything we do in the light of what the Holy Spirit wants us to do to glorify the Father.

What most “Christians” do is drag God who lives in us, through all the junk they want to do and ignore what God wants them to do.  Here is what Paul said about dragging God with us into our sin. 1 Corinthians 6:15-19 (KJB)
15. Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. 16. What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.         17. But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. 18. Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. 19. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

We are the temple of the Holy Ghost, He dwells in us, God owns us. Why would we want to take what belongs to God and drag it through the filth we so greatly desire.

Have you ever seen a dog vomit? Have you seen the dog come back and eat that same vomit?  Watching that makes you want to just get down their and share it with your dog. NOT! most people are grossed out by the very idea. Our sin that we enjoy is much worse than the dog eating its own vomit! We enjoy it, we return to it, we love it! We are dragging the Holy Spirit right into all that filthy, repulsive stuff we are so affectionate of.  Repent! and by the Grace of God stay away from the filth.
Renew our minds in Christ, Live in Christ!

Philippians 1:21 (KJB)
21. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

Is 2012 the end of the world?

The big question on many peoples’ minds is: Is the end of the world going to happen in 2012?

Short answer according to the Bible – No

Long answer according to the Bible:

Lets say the Rapture1 took place today.  According to the Bible there will be seven (7) years of Tribulation and the Judgment of God on the earth. So that is SEVEN (7) more years if it happened today.

Then at the end of the seven (7) years of Tribulation, Jesus Christ2 will rule and reign for One thousand (1000) years.  So now we have One thousand and seven  (1007) years total if the Tribulation’s seven (7) years started today.

At the end of the 1000 years Satan will be loosed and a huge war will happen. God will wipe out the enemy and then the Bible says God will make a new Heaven and a New Earth.  This is the end of the World and a new beginning.

——————————————————————————————————–

1Rapture is the calling out of the Church body on the earth so that the time of Jacob’s trouble can start, and the Wrath of God can be poured out on the rest of the world.

——————————————————————————————————–

2His Hebrew name is Yeshua – know as Yeshua HaMashiach.
This Jesus is not the Jesus you find in the other religions (Mormon, Jehovah witness, Muslim, etc.) If you study you will find out that they are not Yeshua HaMashiach God Himself. Luke 21:8 (KJB)
8. And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.

4 Anchors every child of God must have in their life.

4 Anchors every child of God must have in their life.

1. The Virgin Birth.

The Bible says that The Messiah would be born of a virgin.  Jesus was born of the Holy Ghost thru Mary.  “…for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.” If Jesus was not virgin born, He can not be your Saviour!

  • Isaiah 7:14. Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall  conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
  • Matthew 1:22-23
  • 22. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord  by the prophet, saying,
  • 23. Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

2. The Sacrificial death on the Cross.

Jesus willingly died to save us from our sins. We who are dead in our sins,  are made alive to God through the blood sacrifice that Jesus the Messiah laid on the Mercy Seat in heaven.  Jesus was the more perfect Sacrifice. He died once to pay the price for all.  The payment in full must be accepted by the sinner to be applied to the sinner.

  • John 10:17-18
  • 17. Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
  • 18. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
  • Matthew 1:21
    21. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
  • Luke 19:10
    10. For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
  • 1 John 5:11-13
    11. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

    12. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

    13. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

3. The Bodily Resurrection of Jesus Christ the Messiah.

Jesus the Messiah was buried for 3 days and 3 nights as He prophesied. Then He arose from the grave.  His sacrifice would mean nothing, if He did not live again, for He had to take His blood to heaven and put it on the Mercy Seat in heaven before God the Father so that the price for all sin was paid for in full.

Jesus the Messiah was buried for 3 day and 3 nights.Jesus the Messiah is risen as He said.

  • Luke 24:7
    7. Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
  • Matthew 28:1-6
    1. IN the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.

    2. And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

    3. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:

    4. And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.

    5. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.

    6. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

  • John 20:17
  • 17. Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

4. The Physical return of Jesus in the clouds for His children.

I believe that there are several comings of Jesus. The first “coming” (He was here on the Earth with mankind)  was when He was born by the Holy Spirit through Mary. The next time He will come in the clouds but He will not come to the earth. We see in 1 Thess. 4 that He will come in the clouds to get all the people that have Jesus as their Saviour. Then there will be a second “coming” when Jesus comes and fights with the sword of His mouth. He will destroy His enemies and set up a physical kingdom on the earth, where He will rule for 1000 years.  Then after several other events, He will make a new heaven and a new earth. He will be the Light of the world and He will rule forever.

We look for His coming in the clouds to take us out of this world before His judgment will fall on the world – the wrath of Almighty God! “Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”

  • 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
  • 13. But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
  • 14. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
  • 15. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
  • 16. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
  • 17. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
  • 18. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Preferring others

God  commands His children to prefer others before themselves. That includes making things right when you make a mistake. Being Christ-like is much harder than most people think. That is how I know most people profess to be a Christian (someone who is like Christ), really mean they are saved. Most have no desire to live like God wants them to. There is definitely a difference between being saved and being a Christian.

Try it some time.
